Qualifications include…

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university;
  •  Registered Professional Engineer with minimum of four years experience or equivalent as a Project Engineer, or ability to obtain license within one year;
  •  Roadway Design knowledge/experience;
  •  Roadway Design experience with AUTOCAD Civil 3D or Microstation Geopak;
  •  Ability to work well with, coach and direct others;
  •  Ability to plan and deliver effective oral and written presentations;
  •  Ability to establish and maintain client relationships;
  •  Strong verbal communication skills;
  •  Strong knowledge of local, state and federal regulations;
  •  Ability to handle and coordinate multiple tasks;
  •  Construction or materials knowledge helpful.

Duties & Responsibilities include …

  • Assist in project planning and scheduling with the Project Manager;
  • Assist in monitoring of project progress as required to assure meeting of deadlines in conjunction with the Project Manager;
  • Lead team of project engineer(s), project designer(s) and CAD technician(s) in preparation of roadway profiles, cross sections, drainage studies, pavement geometrics, pavement marking plans and ROW design;
  • Client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects;
  • Responsible for detailed project design decisions (with input from Project Manager);
  • Review and prepare correspondence, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates;
  • Assist project managers with site visits or construction engineering duties;
  • Coordinate with reviewing governmental agencies;
  • Coordinate with utility companies regarding utility relocation within ROW;
  • Coordinate with survey department regarding project survey requirements and ROW;
  • Coordinate with Project Construction Engineer during project construction;
  • Assist Construction Administration Department in negotiation and preparation of major change orders.
