Seeking an Electrical Engineer with Instrument Controls background.
1. Required: Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical) from an accredited four-year institution.
2. Licensing/Registration/Certification: PE preferred.
3. Required: A minimum of 5-10 years experience as an Engineer preferably in an industrial environment.
4. Preferred: A minimum of 5 years experience as an Engineer with at least 2 years in a plant manufacturing and processing environment.
The Basic Function of the Project Electrical Engineer Instrument and Control Specialist is to perform all tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Electrical Department level. The Project Engineer/Electrical is responsible for all activities for the various projects that have been assigned to Him/Her Based on the scope of the project involving design, drawings, specifications, schedule, and costs. Performs engineering assignments as part of a project team involved in the planning, organizing and development of complicated projects. May be assigned as project lead Electrical and supervise other project engineers and technicians.
Essential Job Functions
1. Ability to create a list of design tasks required to complete assigned projects.
2. To finish assignments within the budget and on time.
3. Responsible for identifying any changes in conditions that will require a change in the scope of the work and notifying the project manager of the condition before it takes place.
4. Responsible for completing change orders and all paperwork required to ensure the ability to invoice the client properly as directed by project manager or electrical department lead.
5. Perform calculations and field measurements as required. Do take off of materials, supplies, and equipment. Coordinate the delivery of materials to the job site. Specify and size equipment and coordinate with vendors.
6. Prepare preliminary and detailed layout drawings, construction/ bid specifications, inspect of materials to verify that they are within specifications.
7. Attend kickoff meetings as directed, meet with subcontractors, clients, and government authorities as required to provide accurate information.
8. Prepare construction cost estimates of electrical equipment and maintain accurate records of all expenses incurred on the project.
9. Demonstrates the ability to tactfully handle difficult situations and recognize and deal with priorities.
10. To adhere to company policies set forth. Maintain the confidentiality of Clients and employees.
11. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with all employees and good client relations.
12. Responsible for maintaining and documenting a daily record of all significant project activities then report this to the project manager.
13. Keeps abreast of industry changes and regulations regarding electrical design and determining how it will affect projects.
1. Knowledge of (at least one area) Food, Pet Food, Meat, Grain, Ag/Chemical, Animal Health/Pharmaceutical, Cement, Energy/Schools, or General Industry processing techniques.
2. Knowledge of Electrical engineering design.
3. Power distribution design (MCC: 480/277 and lighting: 208/120 and switchgear: 13.8KV, 4160v OH & UG Distribution, short circuit and grounding calculations.
4. Ability to define, coordinate, and implement the critical path for the projects and identify and solve problems.
5. Ability to identify, analyze and solve electrical power control problems.
6. Significant knowledge of industrial electrical and control systems and installation techniques and layout work to develop equipment layouts, specifications, device layout, power one lines and industrial instrument signing and selection.
7. Demonstrate capability of reading, preparing, and understanding drawings, specifications, codes, schedules, and manuals.
8. Must be effectively read and write English, advanced skill in mathematics, computer literate and have reasoning ability.
9. Ability to bring in new clients and retain/grow existing clients.
10. Ability to meet goals set forth by the VP of Operations.
